New Car: To Buy or Not to Buy

Pros (not necessarily in order of importance)
- New Car Smell
- New Shiny Thing to lust over (at least for a while)
- Active & Passive Safety systems
- Can have as spare vehicle in times of need.
- uh..
- umm..
- eh?

Cons:
- Get indebted to bank for at least 5-7 years
- new car within budget is not any more different than my current car in size and performance
- have to take care of car constantly and worry about it all the time (e.g. can't just park anywhere)
- can't drive it like no tomorrow - must baby it lovingly
- can't fly over speed bumps - have to slow down and crawl over bump like Grandpa
- can't park in tight spots for fear some moron will crash into it
- 2009 uncertainty looming over the horizon
- world might run out of oil tomorrow, and combustion engines will be obsolete
- teleportation is the future, cars no longer needed
- there are other worthwhile investments, like a yacht, for example.

So what do you think? Please help me decide something I probably already decided on..

;)

Actually, to tell you the truth - I have everything stacked against buying. There are two other things I have to take care of this year.

The thought of another car is constantly on my mind though, because sometimes it's needed, like the time when my stupid new fuel pump failed a month after I changed it, because I want to prevent it from failing .

Anywhoo, it's fun to look at poll results.
